Christine Sim is a painter based in the United States.
She grew up between the United States and Korea, moving between cultures from an early age. This sense of being slightly out of place continues to shape how she sees and constructs space.
She studied painting at Hongik University in Seoul, where she began to form her way of seeing and working. After spending years moving across countries as a flight attendant, she returned to painting with a focus on everyday moments that feel subtly unsettled.
Her work explores boundaries and the quiet tension within everyday spaces. Through compositions of animals, objects, and interior scenes, she creates moments where small shifts in placement, scale, or perspective introduce a sense of instability. These are not dramatic disruptions, but subtle dislocations that hold a moment just before it resolves.
She is currently living and working in Atlanta.
